What you’ll be doing:
You’ll be working in the local community and at specialist learning hubs in and around Sutton-in-Ashfield, alongside a committed team—all focused on creating the best possible outcomes for the children they support. This is not a “stand at the back and hand out worksheets” role. You’ll be working with children who don’t always thrive in mainstream school—the ones who need a bit more patience, a bit more flexibility, and a bit more you. Some days you’ll be in libraries. Some days in community hubs. Some days out and about. But always with a child who benefits from your attention, consistency, and creativity. The essentials:
- You must drive and feel genuinely confident transporting a child in your own car from time to time. (You’ll need to add business use to your car insurance for this.)
- Experience working in a school? Not essential.
- Experience with children? Absolutely essential.

- Days: Monday to Friday, term-time only

- Qualifications: Childcare/education qualifications desirable, not essential
- Career Path: After probation, you’ll have the opportunity to complete a funded Level 3 TA qualification and progress further
