The Role: Nurture Teacher

As a Nurture Teacher, you’ll support children in managing their emotions and building their social skills. With a class size of just 12 students, you’ll create a safe and welcoming environment where each child feels valued and understood. You will be supported by two experienced Teaching Assistants, allowing you to focus on delivering tailored lessons that engage and empower each student.

Why Emotional Regulation Matters

Helping children regulate their emotions is essential for their overall development. It builds resilience, enhances academic performance, fosters healthy relationships, and promotes mental health. By guiding children to express their feelings appropriately, you empower them to navigate challenges confidently and develop essential life skills.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in Nurture or SEND Settings: You have a background in nurturing and supporting children, particularly those who struggle with emotional regulation and social skills.
  • Empathy and Patience: You recognize that every child is unique and deserving of understanding and care. You take the time to build relationships that foster trust and security.
  • A Positive and Interactive Approach: You can create engaging lessons that balance emotional and academic support, helping children feel excited about learning.

Qualifications:

To apply, you must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). Your background could be in primary or secondary education, as long as you are dedicated to making a positive impact on children’s lives.

Why This Role is Special:

This is more than just a teaching position; it’s a chance to be a beacon of hope for children who need guidance and support. The satisfaction of witnessing these transformations firsthand is truly rewarding!

About the School:

The school is known for its commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. You’ll find yourself among colleagues who share your passion for making a difference in a community where collaboration thrives.

More About Your Role:

In this role, you will design and implement lessons that focus on emotional balance and social development while also addressing academic needs. Your aim will be to create a nurturing atmosphere where children can express themselves and learn to manage their emotions effectively.

Interview Process:

  • Meet the Head Teacher: Discuss your experiences and your passion for nurturing children as they navigate their emotions and academic journeys.
  • Engagement Day: Spend time with the children and staff to see if this is the right environment for you.
