Are you an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant ready to take the next step in your career? Do you get great job satisfaction and thrive when working 1:1 with children that struggle in a mainstream environment? At Classroom Recruiters, we are looking for experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistants ready to step into a rewarding role as a 1:1 SEN Tutor. This is a great opportunity for those with strong SEN experience who want to work closely with one child, building meaningful relationships and supporting their development in a more personalised way. This position is ideal for someone who understands that progress isn’t always measured in grades — sometimes it’s measured in confidence, connection, and small but powerful breakthroughs.
This role is different from a typical classroom position. You will work independently with your allocated child, guiding them through their day and supporting their emotional and behavioural needs through positive interventions and supportive strategies. Due to the nature of the role, you must be able to drive, as you will be responsible for collecting the child at 9:00am and dropping them home at 3:00pm.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 therapeutic educational support to a child with SEN
- Adapt and personalise learning pathways to meet the child’s individual needs (objectives provided)
- Deliver nurturing, relationship-based support
- Transport a child safely to and from the learning centre (9am pick up - 3pm drop off)
- Monitor progress and provide feedback as required
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment
- Experience working with children with SEN (essential)
- A nurturing, patient, and therapeutic approach
- Ability to adapt learning to meet individual needs
- Full UK driving licence
- Access to your own vehicle with business insurance
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Willingness to complete a mandatory induction prior to starting
At Classroom Recruiters, we are committed to supporting you in your role and helping you grow as a professional. All successful tutors will receive a full induction and free ongoing training, to ensure you feel confident and prepared when starting the role.
If you are an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a more rewarding and personalised role, we would love to hear from you. Apply today to take the next step in your career and help change a child’s educational journey for the better.
