Care Worker – Where Children Come to Heal. And You Help Make That Happen.
Location: Herefordshire | Starting salary £32,000 – rising to £34,000 | Full-Time, Permanent
This isn’t just another care job. It’s not about ticking boxes or clocking in and out. It’s about changing the course of a child’s life — by showing up, staying calm, and offering safety and structure where there often hasn’t been any.
If you believe in second chances — and you’re ready to be part of something truly meaningful — keep reading.
The Environment
This isn’t a typical care setting. The children live in beautiful chalet-style homes, surrounded by countryside and designed with healing in mind. These homes include sensory rooms, creative spaces, and therapeutic areas, all built to help children feel calm, supported, and understood. It’s a place where children can finally start to feel safe — and where adults like you help them rebuild.
The Role
As a Care Worker, your role will be hands-on and heart-led. You’ll support children through their daily routines, help them learn key life skills, and be there in the moments they need someone the most. From managing emotions to sharing a game outside, you’ll be an essential, steady presence in their lives. You’ll work a consistent 3 days on / 3 days off shift pattern (07:15–22:00), giving you both routine and regular 4-day breaks — perfect for rest, reflection, or family life.
Who We’re Looking For
We don’t expect you to have done this exact role before. What matters is your mindset and values. You might come from:
- Adult social care or community support
- Nursing, therapy, or clinical work
- Education or SEND support (like a TA or 1:1)
- Youth work, residential care, or support services
Or you might have a personal connection to the care sector and a deep belief that every child deserves someone in their corner.
What You’ll Get
- Starting salary of £32,000, rising to £34,000 with experience
- Full-time, permanent role
- Fixed 3 on / 3 off rota (07:15–22:00)
- 2-week paid classroom-based induction
- Shadowing with experienced staff to build confidence
- Fully funded Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification
- Ongoing CPD and career progression opportunities
- A supportive team that always has your back
Why This Matters
This role is not easy. The children you support will test boundaries, express big emotions, and carry heavy histories. But with patience, warmth, and consistency — you’ll see breakthroughs. Smiles. Progress. Moments of calm and trust. And you’ll know: you helped make that happen.
If you’re ready to build a career around compassion, resilience, and purpose — hit apply now. Let’s change lives, together.
