Farington Lodge Hotel have a friendly team and are always looking for positive and enthusiastic individuals to join us. We are currently recruiting for a Part Time Chef to work approximately 20 hours per week. This role will involve some early mornings, evenings and weekend shifts on a rota basis.

Role Overview

As a Part Time Chef you will assist in preparing and presenting high quality dishes across our outlets, maintaining food hygiene standards and contributing to a smooth-running kitchen. You will work alongside our culinary team to deliver excellent food consistently, ensuring guests receive a memorable dining experience.

Key Duties

  • Prepare, cook and present menu items to the standards set by the Head Chef.
  • Assist with mise en place and portion control to reduce waste and maintain consistency.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in all kitchen areas.
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures, including safe storage and labelling of food.
  • Support service during busy periods and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Report any maintenance or stock issues to the appropriate team member.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop menu suggestions and daily specials when requested.

Person Specification

  • Previous kitchen experience is desirable but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Good attention to detail with a commitment to consistent food quality and presentation.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
  • Punctual, reliable and flexible with working hours to meet service needs.
  • Awareness of basic food hygiene principles; a Food Hygiene Certificate level 2 is desirable and can be completed on site.
  • Physical stamina to work on feet for periods and undertake manual tasks as required.
  • Hours flexibility is required.
