We are hiring for two positions: Hub Operations Supervisor – Location: Birmingham and Hub Operations Supervisor – Location: Bristol.

Role Description
The Hub Operation Supervisor is responsible for the overall distribution operations with the aim of enhancing customer service and food safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery
- Ensures products are delivered to the customers in good condition and in the given schedule.
- Monitors trucks temperature control and ensures cold chain is maintained at all times.
- Product return management.
- Driver Management
- Oversee Driver Team Leads; ensure SOP compliance and review KPIs such as OTIF, returns, and POD accuracy.
- Plan, anticipate, and propose staffing adjustments in line with seasonality and business growth.
- Manage drivers’ holidays and ensure appropriate cover to maintain service levels.
- Manage drivers’ rotas, including scheduling Saturday delivery cover.
- Routing and Planning
- Organises the delivery planning while optimizing truck loading capacity.
- Defines and optimizes customers’ routes.
- Identifies, prioritizes and implements productivity improvement in all areas of delivery team.
- Plans, anticipates and proposes staff resources adjustment according to coming needs (seasonality, business growth).
- Fleet Management
- Control transportation costs and ensure cost-effective fleet operation.
- Ensure vehicle cleanliness and maintenance standards are upheld by the team.
- Liaise with the leasing company and garages for all repairs and maintenance and ensure vehicles remain compliant with servicing schedules.
- Support planning for future fleet and equipment needs based on seasonality and business growth.
- Liaise with Transport HQ to manage company car service and maintenance requirements.
- Hub Management
- Be the point of liaison for Facilities Management, Quality management, People & Culture and Health and Safety.
- Maintain site cleanliness, security, temperature controls, pest control, hub supplies, and ensure the hub remains audit-ready.
- Implement H&S policies, conduct site walkarounds, support incident and near-miss reporting, and ensure safe working systems.
- Ensure correct waste segregation, HACCP compliance, documentation accuracy, and general food safety and QA standards.
- Oversee pest control, waste management, cleaning services, and temperature-monitoring systems.
- Assist in organising safety training, inductions, and compliance reviews.
- Coordinate contractor visits, site access, room bookings, and workspace layout changes.
- Report and track resolution of facility-related concerns to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Support communication of HR policies, notices, and organisational updates.
- Help with tracking attendance, training completions, and other administrative HR processes.
- Team Management and Engagement
- Manages and motivates the delivery team.
- Organizes and plans the day of the delivery team.
- Ensures communication between the delivery team and the other departments (feedbacks from customers, relevant information on the competition, returns, delivery issues, special requests).
- Implements and maintains health and safety procedures.
- Ensure delivery team complies with hygiene procedures, including presentation.
- Ensures that delivery team is adequately trained (security, hygiene, BRC Standards, customers).
- Monitors KPIs (service level, productivity cost).
- Data management: customer deliveries address, contact, delivery process, restrictions.
Role Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years management experience within the transport and logistics industry.
- Managed a mixed fleet of 10 vehicles.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of transport legislation and compliance.
- Experience using route planning software.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of transport legislation and Multi Drop Deliveries.
- IT Literate with an excellent attention to detail.
- Articulate, confident and resilient with an ability to absorb pressure and respond positively.
- Hold a full valid UK driving license. Cat C license or above an advantage but not essential.
- Manage drivers and ensure deliveries are made with excellent service and abiding to all Road and Traffic laws.
- Oversee drivers performance and probation reviews.
- Responsible for opening and closing the Site when required.
- Manage Driver Infringements and Training where applicable.
- Manage Drivers CPC requirements.
