As a New Business Developer Meat within the Procurement Team you will be responsible for helping our business grow. By having an in-depth knowledge of the London hospitality industry, you will be generating new leads and opening new accounts with excellent sales prospects. As an integrated member part of the wider Procurement department you will be responsible for driving growth on the meat category by identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships with clients, and expanding market share. This role combines strategic planning, market analysis, and hands-on sales execution to develop and maintain profitable partnerships across foodservice, wholesale, contract caterers, and food processors channels.
Key Role Responsibilities:- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within CFF meat portfolio
- Achieving targeted account opening and prospective sales growth of high-end clients; including restaurants, hotels, contract caterers, retail and food processors
- Research market trends, competitor activities, and customer need to inform strategy and advise on NPD
- Building and strengthening commercial relationships within new business opportunities
- Working closely with the Operations departments to ensure that all prospects achieve agreed service levels – exceeding client expectations and delivering on promises
- Daily management of prospects, handling all high-level customer queries and requests
- Monthly reporting on account opening/sales performance against set targets
- Develop and implement business development plans aligned with company objectives
- Representation of the company image, brand and service through visits, events and media
- Completing clear, professional and carefully handled client handovers with the local Sales team
- Providing CFF Sales Management team with information regarding the level of outside competition and general market activities
- Collaborate with meat category manager, buyer, and wider sales team to ensure purchasing forecasts are accurate for timely delivery to your customers
- Following up on product launches set by Category Manager and Head of Procurement, providing results and detailed feedback
- Participating in product training, company events and departmental meetings
- Working closely with the Operations departments to ensure that all prospects achieve agreed service levels – exceeding client expectations and delivering on promises
- Work closely with the Meat Buyer to ensure accuracy on forecasting for new customer orders
- Proven experience in business development or sales within the meat industry or food sector
- Strong understanding of meat products, supply chain, and market dynamics
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to analyse data and develop actionable strategies
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working independently
- Organised with an excellent eye for detail
- A dynamic individual with experience in dealing with high volume communication
- Demonstrate perseverance and resilience in the pursuit of goals
- Proven IT skills with experience using ERP systems, Excel, and CRM
- A can do attitude with a strength in problem solving

- Report all accidents incidents and near misses to the H&S Manager involving yourself or your team in a timely manner
