Classic Car Solutions is a well-established classic car workshop located on the Hertfordshire/Bedfordshire border. Due to a steadily increasing workload, we are seeking to recruit a full-time Mechanic to support our expanding team.
The ideal candidate will have gained solid knowledge and hands-on experience within the automotive industry, such as working in independent garages. A strong ability to problem-solve, combined with an “old-school” approach to workmanship and repair, is essential. Additional skills that would be advantageous, though not essential, include light fabrication and welding, as well as the ability to diagnose and rectify minor electrical faults. The successful candidate must be a team player while also demonstrating the ability to self-manage their own workload effectively. A full UK manual driving licence with no serious convictions is a mandatory requirement.
Role ResponsibilitiesThe role will involve general servicing and maintenance of vehicles ranging from the 1930s through to the mid-2000s. Vehicle inspections will form a key part of the role, along with the ability to clearly discuss findings and recommendations with customers. We place a strong emphasis on clear and professional communication between mechanics and customers. Wherever possible, we prioritise repairing original components rather than replacing them with inferior alternatives, in keeping with our commitment to quality and authenticity.
Working Hours & BenefitsWorking hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. Overtime is often available. Use of the workshop outside of working hours and at weekends for personal projects is offered as a benefit.
