The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving new business growth for CTS, focused on winning new school, academy trust, and education‑sector customers. This role is outward‑facing, target‑driven, and works closely with marketing, technical, and service teams to convert opportunities into long‑term customers.
Key Responsibilities- Identify, qualify, and win new business opportunities within the education sector
- Own the full sales cycle from first contact through to contract signature
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of new name opportunities
- Work closely with marketing on campaigns, events, and lead follow‑up
- Conduct discovery meetings to understand customer needs and position CTS solutions
- Prepare and present proposals, pricing, and recommendations
- Develop strong relationships with decision‑makers (Heads, Bursars, Trust leaders, CIOs)
- Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and activity tracking in CRM (HubSpot)
- Contribute to go‑to‑market feedback and proposition development
- Proven success in B2B sales or business development (IT services preferred)
- Strong prospecting and relationship‑building capability
- Confident communicator, comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
- Self‑motivated, resilient, and outcome‑focused
- Experience selling into schools, MATs, or the public sector
- Knowledge of managed IT services, cyber security, or cloud solutions
- Familiarity with HubSpot or similar CRM platforms
