Bristol. Our office is based in Newminster House, Baldwin Street, BS1 1LT. We offer hybrid working, with a minimum of three days per week in the office. The starting salary for this role is £26,230 per annum. Contract: This role is offered on an initial one-year fixed term basis.

About the role: Class Professional is a multi-award-winning healthcare publisher specialising in print and digital resources for prehospital professionals. To support our growing list of healthcare resources, we are looking for an enthusiastic Editorial Assistant to join our Editorial team. The role will support the development and production of projects from proposal stage through to publication. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone hoping to pursue a career in publishing and gain hands-on experience of working as part of a collaborative editorial team.

What you’ll do:

  • Supporting the editorial team throughout the commissioning and production processes for a range of print and digital products
  • Assisting with manuscript and proof checks ahead of publication
  • Co-ordinating the peer review process and organising payments
  • Preparing and managing publication contracts
  • General administrative responsibilities and bibliographic data
  • Liaising with internal teams, reviewers and authors
  • Organising gratis copies of published titles
  • Managing eBook and POD publications
  • Assisting with copyright permissions for text and image requests

What we’re looking for: We welcome candidates from a wide range of backgrounds. You don’t need prior product or healthcare experience, but you should be motivated to learn and contribute. This is an entry-level position, and full training will be provided. However, the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a high standard of written English, either through education or work experience. A degree or equivalent experience would be desirable.
