A lovely primary school in Derby City is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from January. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive both academically and emotionally.
About the Role
- Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASC, speech and language needs, and SEMH
- Providing 1:1 support as well as small-group interventions
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning plans
- Helping to create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
- Using positive behaviour strategies to promote engagement and independence
- Building strong working relationships with pupils, staff, and families
About You
- Experience working with children with SEND (school or care settings)
- Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
- Confident communicating with children with varied needs and abilities
- Able to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team
- Reliability, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed
- Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification is desirable but not essential
