Design & Technology (DT) Teacher – Secondary

Location: Nottingham (NG10)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Full-time or Part-time

Salary: £190–£240 per day

Class Mate is recruiting an experienced Design & Technology Teacher for a secondary school in NG10, available on either a full-time or part-time basis, starting immediately.

The Role

  • Deliver engaging and practical DT lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Plan, prepare and assess work in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach a range of DT specialisms (e.g. Resistant Materials, Product Design, Engineering or Food Technology)
  • Maintain a safe and well-managed workshop/classroom environment
  • Support pupils’ creativity, problem-solving and technical skills development
  • Work collaboratively with the department and wider school staff

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
  • Proven experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary level
  • Strong subject knowledge across DT disciplines
  • Confident managing practical lessons and workshop environments
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities
  • Committed to high standards of teaching and learning

Requirements

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Recent experience teaching DT within a UK secondary school
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Ability to provide two professional references
