About the Role
Class Education are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Design & Technology Teacher to join a D&T department and deliver high-quality lessons to students in Key Stage 3. The ideal candidate will inspire a love of designing, making, and problem-solving, helping pupils to develop practical skills and confidence across a range of D&T disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging KS3 D&T lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Teach a variety of disciplines, such as product design, resistant materials, graphics, and/or textiles (depending on experience)
- Create a safe and supportive learning environment with a strong emphasis on practical work
- Assess, track, and report on student progress
- Contribute to departmental planning and the wider school community
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workshops to ensure health and safety standards
Person Specification
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
- Strong subject knowledge across a range of D&T specialisms
- Ability to deliver engaging and well-structured lessons
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
Desirable:
- Experience teaching KS3 students
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM and modern manufacturing processes
