Class Education is recruiting on behalf of a friendly and welcoming primary school in Hitchin seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 2 Teacher to join their team from September 2026 to July 2027. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated teacher looking for a part-time role with full class responsibility for two days per week within a supportive and collaborative school environment.
The Role
- Teach a Year 2 class every Thursday and Friday
- Take full class responsibility for planning, teaching, assessment and reporting on your working days
- Deliver engaging and creative lessons aligned with the Key Stage 1 curriculum
- Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
- Monitor and support pupil progress to ensure all children achieve their potential
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure consistency and continuity across the week
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum, particularly Year 2
- Maintains high expectations for learning, behaviour and achievement
- Is organised, reflective and committed to delivering high-quality teaching
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Is passionate about supporting children's academic and personal development
