We are seeking a skilled, practical and motivated Construction Learning Support Assistant to join a forward thinking secondary day special school supporting boys with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school has recently invested in a brand new, purpose built Construction Suite, making this a fantastic opportunity for someone with hands on construction experience who is passionate about working with young people and developing practical, vocational skills.

The Role

  • Support pupils in a construction learning environment, including:
  • Painting and decorating
  • Bricklaying
  • General construction and practical trade skills
  • Provide hands on, practical learning support to individuals and small groups
  • Lead and support small group teaching sessions under the guidance of teaching staff
  • Help pupils develop employability skills, teamwork, confidence and resilience
  • Support positive behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation
