English Teacher – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately

These flexible opportunities are ideal for English Teachers who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different secondary school settings. You will be supporting pupils in Wellingborough and the surrounding areas, delivering engaging and high-quality English lessons across a range of year groups as part of a Class Act supply role.

Duties as English Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured English lessons using provided plans
  • Teach key curriculum areas including English language, literature, reading, and writing
  • Support pupils in developing communication, comprehension, and critical-thinking skills
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of mixed-ability learners
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
  • Assess and record pupil progress where required
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and purposeful learning environment
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong subject knowledge in English language and literature
  • Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to inspire and engage pupils across KS3 and KS4
  • Adaptable across different schools and teaching environments
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Professional, reliable, and enthusiastic about English teaching
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare

Ideal English Teacher:
