Full‑time, long‑term temporary and ongoing role starting September 2026. Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Engineering department across KS3, KS4, and KS5
  • Teach Engineering full time, delivering high‑quality lessons across all key stages
  • Develop, implement, and review the Engineering curriculum and schemes of work
  • Oversee assessment, progress tracking, and standards within the department
  • Support and mentor staff within the department to maintain high‑quality teaching
  • Ensure safe and effective use of workshops, equipment, and resources
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement
  • Contribute to whole‑school leadership and improvement priorities
  • Work collaboratively with senior leaders to develop Engineering provision
  • Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil welfare

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Strong experience teaching Engineering across KS3 to KS5
  • Previous leadership or departmental responsibility experience is highly desirable
  • Confident managing curriculum, staff, and resources
  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of vocational and academic routes
  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication abilities
  • Proactive, reflective, and committed to continuous improvement
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil well‑being

Your salary—dependent on experience—is paid weekly through PAYE.
