JOB PURPOSE of the Yard Banksman in Aylesbury
The Yard Banksman plays a hands-on role in supporting the operation of the Anaerobic Digestion plant in Aylesbury. The AD Operator is responsible for daily tasks to ensure the plant functions efficiently and effectively, optimizing biochemical, operational, and technical aspects in a Logistics, Distribution, and Supply Chain environment.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES of the Yard Banksman in Aylesbury
- HEALTH & SAFETY – Ensure all tasks are performed safely and in compliance with regulations. Familiarize with SOPs and work instructions, highlight concerns, and escalate issues to colleagues or the SHEQ Manager. Work according to approved Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), Safe Systems of Work (SSW), and Work Instructions (WI).
- ENVIRONMENT – Complete all tasks in accordance with environmental standards.
- QUALITY & PERFORMANCE – Use knowledge and teamwork to meet quality and performance targets. Perform sampling and quality checks with lab equipment, take corrective actions, and escalate issues as needed.
- OPERATIONS – Manage daily operations of the facility, collaborating with other operators to ensure continuous and effective performance.
- OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE – Act promptly to maximize operational performance, addressing issues proactively and implementing preventative and corrective measures.
- CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT – Identify opportunities to optimize processes for better throughput and gas yield, and communicate suggestions to the GM or Supervisor.
- MAINTENANCE – Support planned and corrective maintenance activities, perform basic repairs to minimize downtime.
- PRODUCTIVITY – Be flexible to stay on site until issues are resolved or properly handed over.
- SPECIAL PROJECTS – Participate in special projects to achieve the best outcomes.
