This is an opportunity to join a selected VIP list of drivers that are called upon during planned emergencies within the UK. This is not a full-time or permanent position; it is an opportunity to be trained as an Emergency Response Driver. Once in the role, you will be paid a rate of £18 per hour for all hours attended. All travel and accommodation costs will be covered at no cost to you. The training package is valued at over £14,000.

As a Class 2 driver you will stay at an emergency training college near Oxfordshire for a total of 12 days of training, followed by a further 5 days of practical training, for a total of 204 hours worth of paid training.

Requirements

  • Physically fit and able to stand with heavy equipment for long periods.
  • No fear of heights.
  • No breathing difficulties and prepared to wear breathing apparatus.
  • Undergo a DBS check.
  • Prepared to stay away from home in Oxfordshire for training/refresher courses once a year.
