Class1 Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a leading construction company for a Yard Person with Counterbalance Forklift experience to support increased business demand during a busy peak period. The Role
Working as part of a busy yard team, you'll be responsible for loading and unloading deliveries, operating a Counterbalance Forklift, maintaining high safety standards, and helping to keep the yard organised and operational throughout the day. No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys hands-on work, working outdoors, and being part of a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Counterbalance Forklift to move stock and materials around the yard
- Load and unload deliveries including pallets, trays and dolav(s)
- Carry out routine forklift checks and report any defects promptly
- Support stock movements and ensure materials are stored correctly
- Assist with maintaining a safe, clean and organised yard environment
- Carry out litter picking, pressure washing and general yard housekeeping duties
- Prepare the yard for changing weather conditions and daily operational requirements
- Follow all company health and safety procedures
- Deliver excellent service to colleagues, drivers and customers visiting site
What We're Looking For
- A valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (essential)
- Previous experience operating a Counterbalance Forklift in a warehouse, yard or industrial environment
- A strong awareness of health and safety procedures
- Good attention to detail and a proactive attitude
- Reliability and excellent timekeeping
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A willingness to support general yard duties when required
