Hysteroscopy Nurse Specialist in Ashton-under-Lyne

Job Summary

Hysteroscopy Nurse Specialist – Band 7 – 37.5 hours. Qualified Nurse Hysteroscopist required for a 12‑month fixed‑term basis in the Gynaecology Outpatient department at Tameside & Glossop ICFT. Practice independently as per BSGE guidelines and work closely with the service lead and wider gynaecology team to deliver high‑quality, accessible care for women requiring hysteroscopic examination.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic hysteroscopy procedures and manage an independent caseload.
• Use critical decision‑making to determine case management and conduct treatment procedures.
• Collaborate with senior nursing and consultant staff to develop clinical guidelines for all aspects of practice within the speciality.
• Act autonomously as a registered specialist nurse, overseeing patient care from assessment to treatment.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Level 1) with post‑graduate diploma/degree level education or equivalent experience.
• BSGE accredited Hysteroscopist.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.

Desirable

• Gynaecology course.
• Leadership qualification.
• Experience with investigation and local resolution of incidents and informal complaints.
• Research and audit experience.

Experience

• Accredited Hysteroscopist experience.
• Substantial experience working in gynaecology.

Skills & Knowledge

• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated prioritisation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
