Job Summary: Housekeeper – Band 2 – 30 hours per week – 5‑month secondment covering maternity leave – Acute Frailty Hub, Leigh (Ladysmith building).
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all housekeeping duties within the ward.
- Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for patients, relatives and staff.
- Assist with catering responsibilities, including setting up and clearing meals.
- Order supplies, restock areas, and perform minor maintenance of equipment.
- Provide day‑to‑day administrative support for ward operations.
- Plan and organise workload independently while seeking advice from senior colleagues when needed.
Qualifications:
- Good general education (GCSEs or equivalent).
- NVQ or equivalent in customer service and/or food hygiene, or equivalent knowledge (desirable).
- Experience in a customer service, caring or hospitality environment (essential).
- Experience in a hospital environment or housekeeping role (desirable).
Skills & Knowledge:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Understanding of food hygiene requirements.
- Basic computer skills (data input, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to organise own workload and work under pressure as part of a team.
- Good understanding of confidentiality.
Employment Details:
- Pay scheme: Agenda for Change – Band 2 – £24,465 per annum pro‑rata.
- Contract: Fixed‑term – 5 months – 30 hours per week – part‑time.
- Location: Acute Frailty Hub, Ladysmith building, Fountain Street, Ashton‑Under‑Lyne, OL6 9RW.
