About the Role
We are proud to be working with a successful merged College Group, across North & South West London, operating across five vibrant and inclusive campuses. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and forward-thinking leader to join the group as Head of School β Supported Learning for Uxbridge College. In this role, you will lead curriculum teams based at Uxbridge and Hayes, where their new SEND centre is due to open in Spring 2026. Reporting to the Assistant Principal for Supported and Targeted Learning, you will take strategic and operational responsibility for the quality, performance, and development of full and part-time Supported Learning provision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide visionary leadership to curriculum and support teams within Supported Learning.
- Manage the quality and delivery of provision across a range of SEND courses.
- Lead on curriculum development and planning, including qualification reform and pathway design.
- Support teams in implementing strategies to improve attendance, retention, and outcomes.
- Foster an inclusive and high-performing culture, embedding equality, diversity, and inclusion in all areas of delivery.
- Manage and develop staff through coaching, professional development, and performance management.
- Oversee resources, budgets, and compliance within the School of Supported Learning.
Candidate Profile:
We are seeking a committed and innovative education professional with proven leadership experience in Further Education, ideally within a SEND or Supported Learning context. You will demonstrate:
- A degree or equivalent qualification, plus a Level 5+ teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector.
- Proven success as a skilled practitioner in teaching and learning, with measurable impact on learner outcomes.
- Experience implementing strategies to improve attendance, retention, and progression.
- Current knowledge of curriculum developments, SEND reforms, and the SEND Code of Practice.
- Strong understanding of inclusive learning strategies and a deep commitment to equality and diversity.
- Experience in team leadership, staff development, and change management.
- Specialist knowledge or experience in SEND (desirable).
