We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Headteacher (Teaching and Learning) who thrives in a highly collaborative, friendly and positive environment, and who has a genuine passion for learning and teaching. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Development
- Support the Principal and Vice Principals in shaping and communicating a clear strategic vision for the Academy
- Motivate and empower staff to deliver this vision
- Model and promote the values and ethos of the Academy
- Contribute to the effective leadership and management of the Academy, including the successful implementation of change
- Work collaboratively with the Principal, Vice Principals, Governors, Sponsor and external partners
Teaching, Learning and Students
- Ensure the curriculum meets the needs of all learners, including those with low prior attainment and the more able
- Develop innovative and inclusive approaches to teaching and learning
- Promote high standards of behaviour and student support to create a harmonious learning environment
- Involve students as partners in learning and decision-making
- Support effective pastoral care, student welfare and anti-bullying procedures
- Maintain robust systems for assessment, tracking, recording and reporting progress
- Monitor and evaluate curriculum quality and value for money
Leading and Managing Staff
- Lead, motivate and inspire staff at all levels
- Maximise staff contribution to raising standards and improving outcomes
- Ensure effective deployment, performance management and professional development of staff
- Build and sustain positive working relationships across the Academy
- Promote an ethos of high achievement, ambition and collective responsibility
