We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery SEN Teaching Assistant to join our specialist SEN provision in Greenwich on a long-term, full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work with young children in a nurturing environment, supporting their development and helping them access the full curriculum in a structured and inclusive setting.
The Role
As a Nursery SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the SEN team to provide targeted support for children with special educational needs. Your role will involve supporting children’s learning, social development, and emotional wellbeing, ensuring they are able to engage confidently and positively with their peers and the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Support individual and small groups of children with additional needs
- Assist with delivering structured learning activities and personalised interventions
- Promote children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and parents
- Support children in developing independence and confidence
- Assist with observation, assessment, and record-keeping
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working with young children, in a UK based SEN or Nursery setting
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, adaptable, and committed to supporting vulnerable children
- Available to start ASAP for full-time hours
