A thriving primary school in Westminster is seeking an experienced Year 6 Intervention Tutor to join the team from January on a long-term basis. The role focuses on raising attainment in the run-up to SATs through targeted small-group and 1:1 interventions.

The role:

  • Deliver focused English and Maths intervention sessions to Year 6 pupils in preparation for SATs.
  • Work with small groups and 1:1, following school data to target gaps in learning.
  • Plan, deliver and assess intervention sessions in line with the Year 6 curriculum and SATs requirements.
  • Liaise closely with the Year 6 teaching team and SLT to track progress and adapt support.
  • Provide clear feedback to pupils to build confidence, resilience and exam technique.

The ideal candidate:

  • Proven experience supporting Year 6 pupils, with a strong track record of SATs preparation.
  • Excellent understanding of KS2 curriculum and KS2 SATs expectations in Reading, SPaG and Maths.
  • Ability to use assessment data to plan impactful interventions and monitor pupil progress.
  • Confident in behaviour management, with a nurturing, positive approach.
  • Flexible, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a collaborative Year 6 team.
  • QTS or equivalent UK teaching qualification is highly desirable, but strong intervention tutors with extensive Year 6 SATs experience will also be considered.
