A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Bexley is seeking two experienced Behaviour Mentors to join their Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Additionally Resourced Provision. This specialist provision supports pupils with complex SEMH needs who require a highly structured, nurturing and consistent environment to thrive.

These are two permanent, full‐time positions, and proven experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour is essential.

The Role: As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work as part of a skilled and supportive team, providing targeted support to pupils with significant social, emotional and behavioural needs. You will work 1:1 and in small groups, helping pupils to regulate emotions, re‐engage with learning and develop positive behaviour strategies.

Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Support pupils with a range of SEMH needs within a specialist provision
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who require consistency and structure
  • Implement behaviour management, emotional regulation and de‐escalation strategies
  • Support personalised learning programmes and targeted interventions
  • Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience and academic engagement
  • Work closely with the SEMH Lead and wider inclusion team
  • Maintain a calm, safe and nurturing learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience as a Behaviour Mentor or supporting pupils with SEMH needs
  • Confident, calm, firm and resilient approach
  • Strong behaviour management and de‐escalation skills
  • Experience working with primary‐aged pupils (preferred)
  • Reliable, committed and passionate about supporting vulnerable children
  • Available to start full‐time on an ASAP basis
