We are looking for a talented, innovative and dedicated KS1 / KS2 Class teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be someone who is passionate about teaching to the highest standard, committed to maintaining a healthy, comfortable environment, and who has the ability to develop their practice.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POST
To perform the duties of a teacher as outlined in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions document. The post-holder will be expected to manage all aspects of teaching and learning as set out in the Teachers Standards document.
Responsibilities:
- To be fully aware of and understand the duties and responsibilities arising from the Children Act 2004 and Working Together in relation to child protection and safeguarding children and young people.
- To ensure that senior staff / designated safeguarding leads are made aware and kept fully informed of any concerns which you may have in relation to safeguarding and/or child protection
- To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and inclusive curriculum for all pupils.
- To be an effective and reflective classroom teacher able to demonstrate and share good practice.
- To provide relevant assessment information to monitor the overall progress and development of all pupils.
- To encourage pupil’s motivation and enthusiasm, securing positive attitudes to learning and high standards of behaviour and discipline across the school.
- To contribute to the raising of standards.
- To have good knowledge of the requirements of the National Curriculum and stay informed of current initiatives.

Person Specification
- Qualified Teacher Status.
- An understanding of the LA’s Equal Opportunities Policy, and an ability to put this into practice within the Education Service.
- Appropriate age-related experience and/or specialist subject knowledge.
- Knowledge of the development and operation of the National Curriculum/Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
- Understanding of the class teacher’s responsibilities for meeting the needs of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly to a variety of groups.
- Ability to plan, deliver, monitor and evaluate pupils’ learning to include accurate record keeping.
- Ability to provide for a variety of learning styles.
- Ability to effectively manage and motivate pupils.
- Ability to work as part of a team, develop positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, parents and carers, and where appropriate outside agencies.
- Willingness to run an after-school club.
We are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. You will have a safeguarding responsibility if appointed.
The successful candidate will be subject to enhanced clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service and employment will be subject to references.
