An outstanding primary school in Redbridge is seeking an Experienced Year 5 Class Teacher / ECT to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher or an ECT who has gained classroom experience after completing their training, through supply or short-term cover roles.
We are looking for an Experienced Year 5 Class Teacher / ECT who is passionate about teaching, committed to raising standards, and dedicated to providing a high-quality education for all pupils. You will be responsible for planning, delivering and assessing engaging lessons in Year 5, ensuring that all pupils make strong progress.
You will:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in line with the National Curriculum
- Plan and assess effectively to meet the needs of all pupils
- Maintain high expectations for pupil behaviour and achievement
- Provide a stimulating, safe and inclusive learning environment

Key Responsibilities
As an Experienced Year 5 Class Teacher / ECT, your key responsibilities will include:
- Planning, teaching and assessing the Year 5 curriculum, ensuring it is engaging and appropriately differentiated
- Tracking pupil progress and using assessment data to inform planning and intervention
- Promoting high standards of behaviour and attendance
- Providing a supportive learning environment for all pupils
- Working effectively with teaching assistants and other staff
- Contributing to school life through extra-curricular activities and whole-school events
- Participating in staff meetings, professional development and performance management processes
To be considered for the role of Experienced Year 5 Class Teacher / ECT, you must:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship
- Have experience teaching within Key Stage 2, specifically Year 5, including planning, assessment and teaching
- Be confident teaching across the full Year 5 curriculum
- Have excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Be able to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff
We are open to ECTs who have experience teaching after their teacher training in supply or short-term cover roles.
