The post of Section Manager involves considerable subject-based and pedagogic knowledge and understanding. It is essential that the post holder keeps up-to-date with developments in their professional area and in teaching and learning practices. As a curriculum manager, you will act as a role model to lecturers and deputise for the Head of School when needed. All staff are expected to review and assess their performance, engage in constructive debate on pedagogic issues, and be committed to inclusive learning and equal opportunities. Further Education is dynamic, and staff should participate in College activities and remain flexible in their roles.
Minimum Requirements:
- Level 5 or above teaching qualification recognized by the FE sector (e.g., DET, PGCE)
- At least 3 yearsβ recent successful teaching experience in Media/Art and Design for learners aged 16-18
- Industry or practitioner experience in Media/Art and Design
- Understanding of quality assurance, curriculum, and funding issues
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with local employers
- Up-to-date knowledge of the relevant subject area
- Experience in leading or supervising a team
