Clarus Education is seeking an experienced Construction Technician to join a well-established further education setting on a long-term basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Construction Technician with a strong construction background and forklift licence to support practical learning environments and ensure workshops operate safely and efficiently.

Due to the immediate start, applicants must hold a valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

The Role – Construction Technician

As a Construction Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of construction-based courses. The successful Construction Technician will work closely with teaching staff to prepare materials, maintain equipment and ensure health and safety standards are met at all times.

Key responsibilities of the Construction Technician include:

  • Preparing and maintaining construction workshops and practical learning spaces
  • Supporting tutors during practical sessions
  • Operating machinery and equipment safely
  • Managing stock, materials and deliveries
  • Driving and operating a forklift (valid licence required)
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained to a high standard
  • Upholding health & safety procedures across all construction areas

The Ideal Construction Technician

We are looking for a Construction Technician who:

  • Has a strong background in construction trades
  • Holds a valid forklift licence (essential)
  • Has previous experience working as a Construction Technician or in a similar practical support role
  • Understands workshop health & safety requirements
  • Is organised, proactive and able to work independently
  • Can commit to 4 days per week on a long-term basis
