About the role
We are seeking an experienced ESOL/EFL Lecturer to provide short-term sickness cover for 6 weeks, starting as soon as possible on Monday 2 November.
This role involves 16 hours of teaching per week, plus 6 hours of preparation time, totalling 22 hours per week. You will deliver engaging ESOL/EFL lessons to learners across both the Cambridge and Huntingdon campuses.

- Thursday AM and PM: Cambridge Campus
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality ESOL/EFL lessons.
- Teach speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
- Adapt teaching to meet the needs of learners at different levels.
- Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work and learning resources.
- Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Support learners to develop confidence, communication skills and independence.
- Maintain accurate records in line with college procedures.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the department.
- Promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety and college policies.
About you
The successful candidate will have:
- A recognised ESOL/EFL teaching qualification, such as CELTA, TESOL, DELTA or PGCE.
- Experience teaching ESOL or EFL to adults.
- Strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
- Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
- A flexible and learner-focused approach.
- The ability to travel between the Cambridge and Huntingdon campuses.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of learners.
- Fully completed vetting, reference and DBS checks.
