The Role - Primary Teaching Assistant

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with class teachers to provide support across a range of subjects and daily activities. Your medical background will bring added value, particularly in supporting pupils’ well-being, recognising health needs, and contributing to a safe and nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting pupils in the classroom, helping them to engage with lessons and reach their full potential
  • Providing one-to-one or small group support where needed
  • Assisting the teacher in creating a positive, inclusive learning environment
  • Drawing on your healthcare experience to help promote pupils’ emotional and physical well-being
  • Assisting with first aid or health-related situations in line with school policy
