Role Summary

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our UK division. You will be responsible for managing key company accounts, conducting sales, business development, client maintenance and support; all in accordance with company procedures, H&S systems and the company‘s quality system. The role will require travel.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Maintain close contact with key clients to answer enquiries and develop service offerings.
  • Continually progress key client requirements efficiently (within BD, commercial and operations).
  • Ensure KPIs are set and achieved in line with company and client expectations (including, but not limited to, invoicing timescales etc.).
  • Work closely with senior management, i.e., MD, FD, Directors and Regional Managers to develop long term strategic relationships with clients, suppliers and business partners (i.e., other Clarksons PLC business units, sub-agents etc.).
  • Identify new leads and assist the BD team in assigning targets for development.
  • Assist the BD team in developing the pipeline of new business coming into the company.
  • Support the generation, submission and follow-up of quotations and tender responses.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences and similar events to create business opportunities.
  • Regular travel, domestically and overseas (as necessary), to visit clients, suppliers and business partners.
  • Liaise with other business units across the company to identify opportunities to sell Gibb services to group contacts.
  • Work closely with operations staff to ensure the highest levels of service are delivered, in line with both client and company expectations.
  • From time-to-time, work within operations to ensure the successful conversion of lead/target/client requirements to a satisfactory conclusion, while at all times delivering the highest levels of service.
  • Ad hoc / additional duties as required in order to meet the needs of the business.

  • Positive and enthusiastic, with a can-do attitude.

  • Strong IT skills, with intermediate excel skills.
