About You
You’ll have over 5 years experience in trust administration or private client services. You will have a strong knowledge of UK trust law, inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax as they apply to trusts. You will be positive, professional, have a client focused approach and a great team player.
About The Team You Will Be Joining
Our Estate Administration Department specialise in providing advice and assistance to private clients on a broad range of employment matters including, trust administration, wills, probate and lasting power of attorney, amongst others. We have a partner led approach on all matters, providing a flexible team structure which helps to develop junior members of the team and allocation of work to the right level.
What will I be doing?
You will be responsible for providing a high-quality service to clients, including legal and regulatory compliance, managing client relationships, liaising with tax advisors, solicitors and investment managers.
Day-to-day Responsibilities Include
- Administer a portfolio of UK trusts, including discretionary, life interest, personal injury and vulnerable persons trusts.
- Act as a principal point of contact for clients, beneficiaries, and professional advisors.
- Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all relevant UK legislation (e.g., HMRC, FATCA, CRS, TRS).
- Prepare annual trust accounts, tax returns, and related documentation in collaboration with tax specialists.
- Oversee distributions, trustee meetings, trust reviews, and investment monitoring.
- Provide advice on trust structuring, succession planning, and potential tax implications.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trust law, tax changes, and best practices in the UK trust sector.
- Support the training and supervision of junior trust officers or administrators.
- Report regularly to senior management or partners on portfolio performance and risk issues.
