We are recruiting to increase our team of winch paramedics. Our Winch Paramedics provide advanced emergency medical care to offshore wind farm personnel, deploying via helicopter from Humber Airport. Operating in remote and challenging environments, they are trained in winch rescue techniques and collaborate closely with aviation and offshore teams to ensure rapid response and high-quality care.

What you’ll be doing

  • Work a 07:00–19:00 shift on a 7-on/7-off rotation, providing consistent coverage for offshore wind farm operations.
  • Deliver advanced emergency medical care to offshore personnel, including trauma response and life support.
  • Deploy via helicopter and perform winch operations to access remote offshore locations such as turbines, platforms, or vessels.
  • Conduct patient assessments, stabilization, and coordinate medical evacuations when required.
  • Collaborate with helicopter crews, offshore technicians, and site managers to ensure safe and efficient emergency response.
  • Maintain medical equipment and supplies, ensuring readiness for rapid deployment.
  • Support routine health monitoring, wellness initiatives, and safety briefings for offshore teams.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness activities, including drills and scenario-based training.
  • Accurately document medical interventions and maintain patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Uphold high standards of safety, professionalism, and confidentiality in all operations.
  • Additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

Other requirements

  • HCPC-registered Paramedic with current certification and clinical competence.
  • CAP999-compliant SAR Winch Crew certified, ensuring safe and effective helicopter winch operations.
  • Proven experience in pre-hospital emergency care, including trauma and advanced life support.
  • Strong understanding of aeromedical evacuation procedures and offshore safety protocols.
  • Demonstrates physical fitness and mental resilience to operate in remote, high-risk offshore environments, meeting the requirements of a CAA Class 2 medical assessment (to be successfully completed prior to employment)
  • Skilled in dynamic risk assessment and decision-making under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills for coordination with aviation, offshore, and clinical teams.
  • Familiarity with offshore wind farm operations and associated health and safety standards.
  • Competence in maintaining and managing medical equipment and documentation.
  • Ability to integrate into offshore teams and contribute to preventative health and safety initiatives.
