We are seeking an experienced temporary works engineer with expertise in geotechnics and groundworks. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, as part of an ambitious and friendly team. You will be given the opportunity to develop your skills and contribute to the further growth of the business, providing the opportunity for promotion based on ability and merit. The package includes a salary to mirror experience with annual salary reviews as part of our appraisal process and monthly one to ones to track progress and targets. This role would be based out of the clients London office, and you will be required to work there full time.
Responsibilities:
- Design engineering solutions for a range of standard, complex and bespoke projects
- Provide support to our engineering teams nationwide with design, design checking and draughting
- Preparation of clear and well-structured design calculations and reports
- Ensure design risks are considered and prepare design risk assessments
- Consideration of buildability and sequencing
- Site visits and client meetings
- Maintenance of project documentation records
- Liaising with clients to understand their specific requirements
- Building lasting relationships with clients based on understanding and service
- Work individually on smaller projects, or as part of a team on larger more complex projects
- Handle multiple projects at any one time
- 7.5 hours a day Monday to Friday with flexible start/finish time subject to agreement

Essential Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 3 yearsβ experience in one or more of the following principles:
- Sheet pile and soil retention
- Working platforms & pile mat design
- Slope stability
- Foundation design
- Total and effective stress considerations
- Tower crane bases both gravity and piled
- Pile design
- Structural assessment and surveying
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience using 3D/2D structural analysis programmes
- Either already achieved or aiming towards becoming a Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer
- Experience working directly for main contractors
