A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a major infrastructure project in Aberdeen. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a long-term SSE project with approximately two years of secured work forecasted. The role will primarily focus on drainage works, with some smaller-scale earthworks involved. The successful candidate will support the delivery of civil engineering works on site, ensuring all activities are carried out safely, accurately, and in line with programme and quality requirements. This position offers long-term continuity on a significant infrastructure scheme and is open to both freelance and permanent candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting out and surveying works on site
  • Managing and overseeing drainage installations
  • Supporting delivery of smaller earthworks packages
  • Ensuring works are completed to specification and programme
  • Maintaining accurate site records and as-built information
  • Coordinating with site management, subcontractors, and engineering teams
  • Monitoring quality assurance and health & safety compliance
  • Assisting with technical queries and problem solving on site

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Site Engineer within civil engineering
  • Strong drainage experience is essential
  • Earthworks experience beneficial
  • Experience on infrastructure or utility projects preferred
  • Competent with setting out equipment and engineering documentation
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • CSCS certification required
  • SMSTS or SSSTS advantageous

Candidates should ideally be based locally or within commuting distance. Freelance and permanent candidates considered. Competitive rates/salary available depending on experience.
