We are seeking an experienced Scaffolding Design Engineer. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, as part of an ambitious and friendly team. You will be given the opportunity to develop your skills and contribute to the further growth of the business, providing the opportunity for promotion based on ability and merit. The package includes a salary to mirror experience with annual salary reviews as part of our appraisal process and monthly one-to-ones to track progress and targets. The role is based in Deeside in Wales, and will be full time in the client's Deeside office.
Responsibilities:
- Scaffold design engineering solutions for a range of standard, complex and bespoke projects
- Provide support to our engineering teams nationwide with design, design checking and draughting
- Preparation of clear and well-structured design calculations and reports
- Ensure design risks are considered and prepare design risk assessments
- Consideration of buildability and sequencing
- Site visits and client meetings
- Maintenance of project documentation records
- Liaising with clients to understand their specific requirements
- Building lasting relationships with clients based on understanding and service
- Work individually on smaller projects, or as part of a team on larger more complex projects
- Handle multiple projects at any one time
- 7.5 hours a day Monday to Friday with flexible start/finish time subject to agreement
Essential Skills & Experience:
- 4+ years’ experience in one or more of the following applications: Mono & Duo pitched temporary roofs, Free standing scaffolds, Base pad Foundation design
- HNC or Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering preferred but not essential; must be able to demonstrate an equal level of application
- Knowledge of relevant TG and SG (NASC) Suite
- Knowledge of relevant British Standards, European Standards, and specialist documentation
- Knowledge of safety legislations relating to temporary works
- Ability to use drawing software AutoCAD / BRICs CAD
- IT literate
- Familiar with drawing software AutoCAD / BRICs CAD or similar frame analysis packages preferred but not essential
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience using 3D/2D structural analysis programmes
- Either achieved or aiming towards becoming a Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer
- Experience working directly for main contractors
- Have an active role in erecting scaffolds, either practical or supervisory
