We are looking for a Contracts Manager to play an active leadership role within the senior management team of the Civils Division for one our clients. You will be based out of the clients offices in Aberdeen, and asked to visit sites across the East and North of Scotland if and when required. You will be asked to actively promote the Division/Company both externally and internally. Support the Senior Contract Manager to achieve Divisional targets and objectives, and ensure all Division/Company activities are completed to a high standard; meeting or exceeding customerβs expectations. Responsibilities β Actively support the Senior Contract Manager in setting and delivering the Divisionβs/Companyβs key targets/objectives β Overall project management responsibility for multiple contracts including: programme, cost control, direct labour management and management of sub-contractors β Monitoring of site progress against programme β ensuring that proper records are maintained and the necessary contractual notifications are made, to protect the company from unplanned costs or liabilities β Liaison with clients and design teams β Take a pro-active and self-motivated approach to business development β Encourage and strictly police adherence to company procedures, especially the companyβs health and safety procedures β also make suggestions to improve procedures whenever and wherever possible β Take a leading role in the management and leadership of all Civils site-based personnel β Attend and actively participate in regular management meetings β Investigate accidents and incidents, in conjunction with the Group H&S Manager, and ensure submission of findings and report β Ensure timeous delivery of relevant site related paperwork to appropriate parties in head office β Complete appraisals of site personnel β Complete any other duties as might be reasonably required β Any other tasks/duties that may be reasonably requested by management. Health & Safety β Be responsible for the Health and Safety of yourself and anyone else that you could affect β Be familiar with and adhere to the Company Health & Safety Policy and Procedures Environment β Reduce waste as much as feasible (e.g. avoid unnecessary printing/copying of documents, switch off lights/equipment when not in use. β Recycle items wherever and whenever feasible to do so. Personal Appearance β Maintain a high standard of personal appearance, appropriate to your role. Qualifications Essential: β Driving Licence β 5 Day CITB SMSTS Course β CSCS Touch Screen H&S Certificate Desirable: β Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent Essential Criteria: β Management experience of medium to large Civil Engineering projects β Existing network of relevant contacts within the construction sector β Strong interpersonal skills β ability to influence, persuade and motivate others β Excellent time management and prioritisation skills β Planning experience β preferably proficient in the use of computer planning software β Computer literate β including the use of Microsoft Office Desirable Criteria: β Minimum of 3 years management experience, including strategic planning and directing of projects β Proven experience of developing innovative ideas to develop and retain employees β A strategic thinker able to deal with operational issues, opportunities and obstacles
