Clarkson Evans is the largest electrical and solar installer working in the new build housing sector, wiring over 24,000 homes a year. We partner with the UK's leading housing developers and were delighted to be crowned Subcontractor of the Year at the 2023 Housebuilder Awards.

This is a varied role assisting the Technical Team with ensuring our workforce has access to clear, consistent technical guidance and on-demand support. The role also supports the technical advice service we offer to other stakeholders such as our builder customers, homeowners and suppliers. The role is largely office-based but with an occasional requirement to visit sites, branches or customer offices.

Responsibilities
  • First line support to resolve technical enquiries from our site-based staff and other internal departments. This includes responding to calls and messages sent to our Techtalk group.
  • Creating and distributing accurate documented technical guidance and updates, for example in response to changing regulations or customer requirements.
  • Producing video guidance on installation processes, including being the subject and editing of the footage.
  • Monitoring announcements on regulatory changes and researching the detail.
  • Maintaining and administering operational and certification software.
  • Assisting with the induction process for new starters.
  • Assisting with the review, accuracy and compliance of electrical and solar PV work and certificates.
  • Registration of Part P and MCS certificates.
Requirements
  • Electrical industry knowledge and experience in the housebuilding sector, backed up by strong technical understanding is essential.
  • Full UK manual driving licence.
  • Qualified to Electrotechnical NVQ level 3 desirable.
  • Strong writing skills, including good spelling and grammar and the ability to document complex information in a concise, logical format.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with staff at all levels in the business.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Positive attitude and determination to provide a high level of customer service.
  • Tenacious approach to finding answers and resolving things rather than leaving anything open-ended.
  • Professional manner and the ability to represent the company well at client meetings when required.
