Purpose:
Motivated by driving positive commercial outcomes you will be an experienced Senior eCommerce trading manager, leading a team within a fast-paced retail environment. You will lead, coach and mentor a team of eCommerce Visual Merchandisers across all ranges and categories to deliver commercial growth within the eCommerce channels of Clarks UK & ROI and DTC Marketplaces. Commercially minded, you will need to be able to demonstrate your ability to analyse / critique and propose solutions at pace to drive good commercial decisions.
Accountabilities:
Team leadership:
- With a growth mindset you will lead and mentor the ecommerce trading team to achieve business objectives and sales growth
- Represent team and deputise for Head of Ecommerce at key trading meetings
Strategic planning:
- Develop and implement comprehensive eCommerce strategies to achieve sales and conversion targets
- Monitor daily sales performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and proposing actionable solutions
- Manage trading calendars, coordinating promotions, pricing strategies, and upselling initiatives to increase sales/GM
Merchandising & Website Optimisation:
- Oversee site merchandising aligned with stock movements, product performance, analytics, and trends
- Ensure accurate, detailed product content (descriptions, images, specifications) across all platforms
- Enhance site usability, navigation, and speed to improve user experience and conversion rates
Performance Analysis & Reporting:
- Utilise analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) to track website metrics and user behaviour
- Provide regular reports on digital performance, proposing actionable improvements based on data-driven insights
Onsite/Platform/Conversion Optimization:
- Ensure the eCommerce platform is optimized and we have maximum adoption of the tooling available – CMS/DAM/PIM
- Leverage customer insights and competitor analysis to inform eCommerce development strategies
- Drive initiatives to improve user journeys, increase AOV, and optimize promotional activities
Cross functional collaboration:
- Work closely with marketing, merchandising, finance, customer services to align strategies and ensure seamless operations
- Collaborate with internal teams, including performance marketing, web development and product delivery to optimize customer journeys and engagement
- Work closely with marketing, merchandising, and leadership team to drive effective ecommerce channel growth at pace
Requirements: Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Experience & Knowledge:
- 4+ years’ experience in a senior ecommerce trading leadership role
- Experience working in an ecommerce role covering EU markets – desirable that you also have experience in UK/ROI markets
- Educated to a Degree/Master level in marketing / advertising/fashion discipline
- Experience in a merchandising / product related field
- Extensive experience working in DTC ecommerce within either a fashion / footwear brand
- Proven experience in an eCommerce leadership role with a track record of driving online growth at pace
- Technical proficient in using eCommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento, Commerce Tools)
- Exceptional analytical experience with ability to analyse data to drive actions/ improve performance

- Enthusiastic, positive, with a determination to achieve results at pace – a growth mindset
- Practical, self-starter with ability to demonstrate good judgement; you will be able to identify and execute on opportunities, at pace, to drive profitable growth
- Excellent and effective interpersonal and influencing skills- you can communicate / present information / ideas, gaining business buy in to all levels of the business (working in a matrix environment)
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail, capable of ensuring accuracy and high standards at all times
- Highly tuned analytical ability and able to use multiple data sets
- Excellent understanding of P&L, funnel analytics, UX & UI principles, CMS’, and onsite merchandising
