The predicted salary is between 45000 - 55000 £ per year.

We are currently looking for a Health and Safety Manager to join our team. We are open to both part time and full time applicants and you can be based out of any of our regional offices.

Day to day, you’ll be successful in this role by:

  • Health, Safety & Fire Safety
    • Maintaining and continuously improving the firm's Health & Safety Management System in line with legislation and best practice.
    • Providing practical and proportionate health and safety advice to leaders, managers and employees.
    • Developing and reviewing policies, procedures, guidance and risk management frameworks.
    • Managing fire safety arrangements, including Fire Risk Assessments, evacuation procedures, fire drills, PEEPs and fire warden programmes.
    • Liaising with landlords, managing agents and regulatory authorities to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Risk, Compliance & Assurance
    • Leading risk assessments, workplace inspections, audits and incident investigations.
    • Tracking and monitoring corrective actions through to completion.
    • Producing meaningful compliance reports, KPIs and assurance updates for senior leadership.
    • Monitoring legislative changes and ensuring compliance arrangements remain effective.
    • Supporting statutory compliance programmes, including fire systems, emergency lighting, electrical testing, water hygiene, asbestos management and contractor compliance.
  • Facilities & Project Support
    • Supporting contractor management processes, permit-to-work systems and supplier compliance activities.
    • Providing health and safety expertise for office moves, acquisitions, refurbishments and workplace change projects.
    • Working with Facilities Management teams to ensure consistent building safety and compliance standards across all locations.
  • People & Workplace Wellbeing
    • Managing DSE assessments, workplace adjustments and specialist equipment recommendations.
    • Supporting personal risk assessments in collaboration with HR, Occupational Health and line managers.
    • Delivering health and safety training, awareness campaigns and guidance to employees and key stakeholders.
    • Promoting a proactive safety culture and encouraging reporting of hazards, incidents and near misses.
  • Business Continuity & Emergency Planning
    • Supporting business continuity and emergency response planning across the organisation.
    • Contributing to preparations for incidents including fire, flooding, power outages, security incidents and loss of building access.
    • Supporting post-incident reviews and embedding lessons learned into future procedures.
  • Additional Facilities Governance Responsibilities (Full-Time Appointment)
    • Managing Standard Operating Procedures and ensuring documentation remains current and compliant.
    • Supporting the planning and delivery of facilities projects.
    • Overseeing planned preventative maintenance governance and escalation processes.
    • Maintaining supplier management records, compliance documentation and key facilities information.
    • Managing ad hoc facilities-related requests and operational activities.

Skills & Experience

  • Significant health and safety management experience, ideally within a multi-site corporate, professional services or legal environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, fire safety requirements, risk management and audit processes.
  • Experience developing policies, procedures, compliance records and management reporting.
  • Experience working with landlords, managing agents, contractors, suppliers and regulatory bodies.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, to analyse and report compliance data.
  • Experience conducting internal audits and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Facilities management, workplace services or corporate real estate experience would be advantageous.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent).
  • Membership of IOSH or another relevant professional body.
  • Fire Risk Assessment qualification or recognised fire safety training.
  • DSE Assessor qualification and experience supporting workplace adjustments.
  • Higher-level health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH Diploma, NCRQ Level 6, NVQ Level 6, or equivalent (desirable).
