We have an exciting, permanent opportunity for an IT Business Engagement Manager, this role can be performed on a hybrid basis from any one of our seven UK offices. This is an exciting time to join our Technology, Knowledge and Change (TKC) team, and our growing firm. Our TKC team is an area of the business that is currently undergoing significant growth and investment, to keep up with the ever‑changing technological landscape.
As the IT Business Engagement Manager, you will play a key role in bridging the gap between IT and internal client teams, ensuring that technology solutions align with and support the firm’s strategic goals. Your role will be key to developing close relationships with the legal and operations teams, creating a deep understanding of the firm’s technology and service needs and being at the centre of creating the IT delivery and innovation agendas for the firm.
The responsibilities of the IT Business Engagement Manager are wide ranging, to be successful in this role you will:
- Develop relationships with the teams you look after within the firm.
- Be the primary contact and relationship manager between our Technology Team and other Legal and/or Support teams within Clarke Willmott.
- Work on a blend of proactive and reactive activities.
- Have a foot in both camps of TKC and the business area you look after.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to create trusted relationships and clear understanding of working practices.
- Identify pain points and opportunities as well as provide the conduit to find solutions for delivery.
- Proactively identify processes, technology, service improvements and innovations.
- Communicate feedback into TKC and the firm’s IT service partners on matters concerning their business areas.
- Provide an interface into the Support teams on behalf of the business area when things go wrong.
- Stay up to date on current industry trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement in IT‑business alignment.
- Communicate inputs to the Departments and Teams of what is going on and what’s in the pipeline from TKC.
- Work with IT delivery and the Knowledge and Change teams within TKC to scope and develop items of change and support in the prioritisation and planning of said change.
- Work closely with the IT Training team and the L&D Upskilling Programme to identify Department and Team specific training activities in relation to technology.
- Manage, alongside the outsourcing provider and Chief Architect, service issue escalations from the Department and Teams.
- Manage relationships with external suppliers and oversee procurement of IT products and services.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in translating business requirements into technical solutions and vice versa.
- Knowledge of IT governance frameworks, project management, methods and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Certification in ITIL, PMP, or other relevant credentials would be desirable.
- Proven experience in IT project management, business analysis, or technology consulting.
