The predicted salary is between 28800 - 48000 £ per year.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Newly Qualified Solicitor to join our Corporate Tax team. Based in Manchester, you will join our wider, well-established Corporate and Commercial team and play an integral part in a broad range of work. From the outset, you will have the opportunity to work on high quality, high value work including assisting the team with real estate, corporate and employment taxation.

For this position we are open to applicants with a strong background in transactional law, who are interested in specialising in Corporate Tax upon qualification.

Day to day, you'll be successful in this role by:

  • Advising on a broad range of legal tax matters, including:
  • Advising on high quality tax aspects of a wide range of corporate structures and corporate transactions.
  • Advising on the tax aspects of partnerships and LLPs.
  • Drafting and reviewing corporate transactional tax documents such as tax warranties and tax covenants.
  • Drafting tax reports and applying for tax clearance on corporate transactions.
  • Advising on the tax aspects of property transactions and property ownership including real estate structures, sales and acquisitions with an ability to advise on all of CIS, SDLT, VAT and capital allowances matters.
  • Advising on the tax aspects of share ownership schemes and share incentive schemes.
  • Advising on Employment taxation of UK resident employees, taxation of employment termination payments and IR35.

The client base comprises of all types of companies, partnerships, joint ventures and private individuals. It is an integral part of this role that you comply with information security and all firm policies and procedures.

The Role Is Right For You If:

  • You will be responsible for dealing with high-quality, high-value work, so ideally you will already have prior experience in the fields of corporate, property, and employment-related transactions. However, we can offer training to support you in developing your Tax expertise.
  • You will need to be technically excellent but equally, commercially aware.
  • You will need to be a team player with a client-focused approach and a keenness to become involved in business development activities within the team as a whole.
  • You will have a strong academic background and excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • You will be someone who likes to be proactive, and who is flexible working both individually and as part of a team, with minimal supervision, able to manage a number of different cases and clients effectively.
  • Communication will be one of your strong points, both written and oral, and you will be enthusiastic about delivering excellent quality service to our clients.
  • We expect you to be able to use your initiative, and be a forward-planner, anticipating our clients' needs in advance wherever possible.
