We are currently looking for a Solicitor to join our Housing Management team due to continued growth and success. Our Housing Management team has seen significant growth in the last 10 years and is one of the firm’s fastest growing teams, acting for Registered Providers and Local Authorities. The team is also recognised in Legal 500 & Chambers directory rankings and has been for a number of years. We continue to be appointed to some of the largest national and regional frameworks.
Day to day, you’ll be successful in this role by:
- Dealing with a wide range of issues covering all aspects of housing management functions including:
- Litigation and advisory work
- Possession proceedings including anti-social behaviour, sub-let, failed succession and trespass
- Advice on all aspects of tenancy management including income, relationship breakdown, succession, assignment & mental health
- Equality Act / public law advice
- Injunction proceedings against tenants, shared owners/leaseholders and non-tenants
- Review and drafting of policy, procedure and tenancy agreements
The role is right for you if:
- You have previous experience working in a Housing Management team, ideally having represented Registered Providers / Local Authorities.
- You possess the following skills:
- Ambition and a real interest in the social housing sector
- Supervision of junior members of the team
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, being able to adapt your style to communicate effectively with a wide range of professional people
- Enthusiastic about delivering excellent quality and service to clients
- The ability to multitask on a varied caseload
- Work well as part of a team and have a can-do attitude
Advocacy experience will be advantageous but is not essential.
