We are seeking a Senior Associate to join our Corporate team in our Birmingham or Bristol office, handling a broad range of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures and corporate governance.

Day to day, you’ll be successful in this role by:

  • Working with colleagues locally and nationally for a wide range of clients including public and private UK and International companies and their owners in relation to mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt funding and general corporate structuring work.
  • Leading and managing a broad range of corporate transactions and providing advisory work on corporate governance.
  • Mentoring junior members of the team whilst working closely with the Birmingham partner on strategic initiatives and thought leadership.
  • Taking an active involvement in business development activities, building client relationships and helping to grow our already well-regarded practice.

This role will allow you to work flexibly, splitting your week between your home working environment and our Birmingham office. It is integral to comply with information security and all firm policies and procedures.

The role is right for you if:

  • You can make an immediate impact, and the role would be well suited to a 5 to 10 year qualified ambitious lawyer who is looking to progress their career within corporate law.
  • You have played a lead role in some transactions and acted as the principal assistant on other more complex ones.
  • You have built a solid foundation in mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance, with a working knowledge of debt finance being useful.
  • You possess a strong intellect, initiative, drive, and great organisational skills.
  • You have self-motivation, resilience, and strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • You take pride in your work and provide a first-class service to clients, anticipating their needs and paying meticulous attention to detail.
  • You have developed strong client management skills and a strong interest in business development.
  • You are a genuine team player, looking to support others and share ideas for the benefit of the team.
  • Sector experience in healthcare would be beneficial but not essential.

If you are ambitious, this role has good prospects for career advancement. Legal practice is about people and this is very much a team orientated role.
