We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Marketing Manager to join our Marketing team. As Marketing Manager, you will serve as a key strategic partner to the Head of Marketing, playing a central role in shaping, driving and executing the firm’s marketing strategy across its priority sectors and client services lines. You will oversee a small marketing/communications team, ensuring high‑quality output across brand and content in all communication channels.

Working closely with fee‑earners and the Business Development team to strengthen the firm’s market presence with private/corporate and referrer clients, you will be effective in deepening client engagement and driving sustainable growth across the practice. This role requires a proactive leader with a strong understanding of the professional services sector, excellent stakeholder management, and the ability to translate insight and data into effective marketing actions.

Day to day, you’ll be successful in this role by:

  • Supporting the firm’s growth strategy
  • Working with head(s) of marketing/BD to co-create annual sector/team marketing plans aligned to firm strategy.
  • Leading the delivery of marketing initiatives, ensuring accuracy, and that activity is measurable and aligned to firm objectives.
  • Proactively driving forward sustainable growth
  • Working closely with the Business Development Team to track market trends, competitor activity and sector-specific developments to inform strategy and identify growth opportunities.

Client Focus & Team / Business Development Alignment:

  • Demonstrating a deep understanding of key audiences (private client, business and referrer), mapping their needs, behaviours and engagement channels.
  • Supporting with client targeting, cross-selling and identifying emerging client opportunities.
  • Working collaboratively with BD colleagues to coordinate targeted campaigns, pitch support, cross-selling initiatives and profile-raising.

Marketing & Promotion:

  • Collaborating with the fee earners and the business development team to create and execute targeted marketing campaigns and sector-specific initiatives that support growth visibility and client engagement.
  • Developing high-quality marketing materials, including brochures, presentations and assisting with content aimed at promoting the firm prospects, clients and the wider market.
  • Working closely with the Internal Communications team to optimise the reach and impact of fee-earner generated content across the right channels.
  • Using analytics tools to track campaign performance, website behaviour, conversions and ROI, providing clear insights and recommendations to improve effectiveness and inform decision-making.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance the firm’s external visibility, search performance and audience engagement, including optimisation of SEO, content positioning, channel mix and user experience.
  • Overseeing relationships with external agencies, providing day to day direction, quality oversight and performance monitoring, with support from Marketing Executives to ensure smooth delivery and alignment with the firm’s objectives.

Financial Analysis and Reporting:

  • Working with Business Development to analyse financial, client and practice-area data to identify trends, performance gaps and opportunities.
  • Producing regular reports for senior leadership, including campaign ROI and pipeline insight.
  • Presenting data to senior members and other fee-earning teams.

Team Leadership & Management:

  • Leading day‑to‑day management of the Communication team, acting as the primary point of escalation for operational queries and issues.
  • Setting clear goals and performance expectations, ensuring team members are aligned and accountable for delivering against individual and professional growth.
  • Holding regular one‑to‑ones, performance reviews and development conversations to drive high performance, engagement and professional growth.
  • Coaching, mentoring and motivating the team, fostering a collaborative, inclusive and high‑performing team culture that reflects firm values.
  • Proactively managing performance, conduct and attendance in line with firm policies, working with HR as appropriate.
  • Overseeing recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training to build capability and ensure smooth integrations of new team members.
  • Supporting the Head of Marketing and the Director of BD&M in other ad hoc related activities and projects as and when required.

The role is right for you if:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a Senior Marketing role within a law firm or professional services setting, is required.
  • At least 2+ years of management or supervisory experience leading a marketing or communications team.
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience developing and delivering effective content across key external channels – website, social media, newsletters and related platforms.
  • Proficiency in using CRM, marketing tools and Microsoft office suite.
  • Proven experience delivering integrated marketing campaigns and measurable growth outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of marketing, including SEO, CMS, social media, and analytics platforms.
  • Excellent copy writing, editing and communication skills, able to adapt tone and style for multiple external audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, challenge and build trust with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Desirable:

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field.
  • Understanding of sector-specific marketing within the professional services, including regulatory and reputational considerations.
