We are seeking a Senior Associate to join our Corporate team in our Birmingham office, handling a broad range of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures and corporate governance.

Day to day, you’ll be successful in this role by:

  • Working with colleagues locally and nationally for a wide range of clients including public and private UK and International companies and their owners in relation to mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt funding and general corporate structuring work.
  • Leading and managing a broad range of corporate transactions and providing advisory work on corporate governance.
  • Mentoring junior members of the team whilst working closely with the Birmingham partner on strategic initiatives and thought leadership.
  • Taking an active involvement in business development activities, building client relationships and helping to grow our already well-regarded practice.
  • Complying with information security and all firm policies and procedures.

The role is right for you if:

  • You can make an immediate impact, and the role would be well suited to a 5 to 10 year qualified ambitious lawyer who is looking to progress their career within corporate law.
  • You have played a lead role in some transactions and acted as the principal assistant on other more complex ones.
  • You have built a solid foundation in mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance.
  • A working knowledge of debt finance would also be useful.
  • You have initiative, drive and great organisational skills.
  • You possess self-motivation, resilience and strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • You relish helping others and are eager to learn.
  • You take pride in your work and provide a first-class service to clients, anticipating their needs in advance and paying meticulous attention to detail.
  • You have developed strong client management skills and a strong interest in business development.
  • You are a genuine team player, looking to support others and share ideas and opportunities for the benefit of the team.
  • Sector experience in healthcare would be beneficial but not essential.
