About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Associate to join our Corporate team in our Birmingham or Bristol office, handling a broad range of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures and corporate governance.
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Our national Corporate team is led by 16 Partners and has a presence in each of our seven offices.
- Work with colleagues locally and nationally for a wide range of clients, including public and private UK and international companies and their owners, in relation to mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt funding and general corporate structuring.
- The range and quality of our caseload provides an exceptional base to develop your career in corporate law.
- Lead and manage a broad range of corporate transactions and provide advisory work on corporate governance.
- Mentor junior members of the team while working closely with the Birmingham partner on strategic initiatives and thought leadership.
- Engage in business development activities, building client relationships and helping to grow our well-regarded practice.
- Work flexibly, splitting your week between home working and the Birmingham office.
- Comply with information security and all firm policies and procedures.
The Role is Right for You If
- You can make an immediate impact and are a 5 to 10 year qualified, ambitious lawyer looking to progress within corporate law.
- You have played a lead role in some transactions and have acted as the principal assistant on more complex ones, with a solid foundation in mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance; a working knowledge of debt finance is also useful.
- You demonstrate strong academic achievement, initiative, drive, organisational skills, resilience and excellent written and oral communication.
- You take pride in your work, provide first-class service, anticipate client needs and pay meticulous attention to detail.
- You have strong client-management skills, an interest in business development, and are a genuine team player who supports others and shares ideas and opportunities.
- Sector experience in healthcare would be beneficial but is not essential.
- You are ambitious, seeking good prospects for career advancement.
- Legal practice is about people and you thrive in a team-orientated role.
